Speed-Rail® Starters - Baby Pin / 3/8" Thread
Hudson Spider™ | Made in USA
Speed-Rail® Starters: The Foundation of Every Pipe Rig
Go from stand to Speed-Rail® in seconds. No adapters. No hassle.
You're building a goalpost rig between two combo stands. Or extending a menace arm off a grip head. Or rigging Speed-Rail® to a process trailer. Every one of these setups starts the same way: with a starter that bridges your grip stands to 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" pipe.
These Speed-Rail® starters drop onto any baby pin - from C-stands, combo stand pop-ups, or grip heads - and lock down with a recessed set screw. The opposite end gives you female 3/8"-16 threading for cheese plates, monitors, or additional mounting hardware. Three lengths let you dial in the exact clearance you need.
Why Starters Matter
A starter is the first link in any Speed-Rail® structure. It's the piece that transitions from a stable base (your stand or grip head) to the freedom of pipe rigging. Without a solid starter, your entire rig is compromised. These are precision-machined from high-strength aluminum to handle real-world loads without adding unnecessary weight to your kit.
Key Features
Universal Baby Pin Mount: The 5/8" receiver fits baby pins from C-stands, combo stands (pop-up pin), and grip heads. If it has a baby pin, this starter fits it.
Set Screw Lock: Recessed hex set screw (3/16" Allen key) clamps the baby pin tight and eliminates rotation under load. No slipping, no spinning.
Dual-Ended Versatility: Female 3/8"-16 thread on the opposite end accepts cheese plates, monitor mounts, and standard grip accessories.
Two Pipe Sizes: Available for 1-1/4" Speed-Rail® (1.66" OD) and 1-1/2" Speed-Rail® (1.89" OD). Match your existing pipe inventory.
Three Lengths: 2", 3", and 5" options. Shorter for tight clearances, longer for offset requirements.
